Our highly-trained team is dedicated to treating eating disorders in adults, adolescents, their families, and the community. While each team member brings a unique specialization to the table, they all share a mission to deliver the best care to Prelude clients and families on their journey toward recovery.

Melissa Grossman-Naples

Founder and Clinical Director

Melissa Grossman holds a Master's degree in clinical psychology and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon. She has been working as a therapist for 35 years and has expertise in eating disorders, trauma, addiction and working with the LGBTQ+ and other marginalized communities. She has had private practices in San Francisco, Portland, and Corvallis and was the Clinical Director of an outpatient eating disorder and addiction treatment center for 10 years. She is a sought-after eating disorder practitioner in the Willamette Valley. In 2022, she was a trainer for the Oregon Health Authority’s eating disorder treatment series. Melissa taught courses on eating disorders and co-occurring trauma as well as eating disorders in the LGBTQ+ Community.

She has worked as a diversity trainer for Multnomah County and in San Francisco and is committed to those principles as a foundation of her professional practice.

M.S. in Clinical Psychology from San Francisco State University B.S. in Psychology and Women's Studies from UC Santa Cruz.

Deborah Bella

Nutrition Director

Deborah is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and advanced clinician with over 35 years of experience in the field of human nutrition and foods. Her private practice in Corvallis, Oregon provided nutrition counseling for treatment of eating disorders. She served as a group facilitator for the Body Project, an Eating Disorder Prevention Program and is a member of the International Federation of Eating Disorder Dietitians. She serves as the coordinator for the Willamette Valley Eating Disorder Treatment Facilitators Group, and she has been a preceptor for and serves on the Board of Directors of the Oregon State University Dietetic Internship.

Ph.D. and M.S. in Nutrition from Cornell University, B.S. in Human Nutrition and Foods from Virginia Tech, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), Licensed Dietitian (LD) in Oregon, and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES).

Ari Grossman-Naples

Director of Business, Operations and Marketing

Ari Grossman-Naples is a business professional with 17 years of experience in business administration. He has worked in public service in both the K-12 and University education sectors.

Ari leverages his passion to be of service to the communities he is a part of with his innate business acumen to achieve positive outcomes for the organizations he serves. He also currently serves as a member of the Benton County Hope Advisory Board (Housing Opportunity Planning and Equity Board), the Corvallis Sister Cities Association Board (CSCA), and the CSCA-G Gondar Council. Ari has previously volunteered with Benton County 4H as an Assistant Leader and with the Beit Am Mid-Willamette Valley Jewish Community as an at-large Board Member and Executive Board Member, and on various Beit Am Committees.

Ari holds a Bachelor of Science in Business and Business Information Systems from George Fox University and a Master of Science in Graphic Arts Publishing with a Marketing and Public Relations concentration from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). He also holds certificates in Grant Writing from Portland State University and Mastering the Art of Working with People from Pryor Learning.

Ari is extremely excited about working with the Prelude team to realize their dream of creating and opening a welcoming, evidence-based, state-of-the-art treatment facility in the Mid-Willamette Valley and surrounding communities.
