At Prelude, we provide eating disorder treatment in an outpatient setting to adults, adolescents and families of all genders and family constellations. Our comprehensive treatment programs include therapy, nutrition guidance, body image and therapeutic movement groups, multi-family groups and ongoing education to help our clients heal their relationships with food, body and each other. We embrace an intersectional, anti-oppression, trauma-informed approach, removing criticism and judgment so clients feel supported, nourished and hopeful about their recovery journey.
Our adult and adolescent Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) meet 4 hours per day, 4 days per week at times that allow clients to continue to work and go to school.
IOP Offerings Include:
Weekly individual, group, and family therapy, as well as nutrition services, are conducted outside of the daily IOP hours. Referrals to medical and psychiatric services will be facilitated as required, and Prelude will ensure coordinated care with all other providers.

About Nutrition Services:
The dietitian’s (RDNs) role in eating disorder treatment includes assessment of nutrition status, eating patterns and general nutrition education. RDNs develop individualized meal plans, provide general nutrition education and help clients explore eating environments to develop a more positive relationship with food.
About Therapy Sessions:
Using a BioPsychoSocial framework, therapists work with clients using a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities (read about them here) as well as honest and direct communication. The therapist’s goal is to provide clients the support they need to find ongoing recovery and a positive relationship with food and their body.
About Eating Disorder Assessments:
Eating Disorder (ED) Assessments include evaluation of physical and psychological components of EDs. Assessments are done in collaboration with medical providers. We will provide a complete write up and diagnosis with treatment options and referrals at the end of this process.
Please Note:
Whether or not you have a formally diagnosed eating disorder, restrictive eating, binge eating, over exercising and other dangerous eating patterns are physically and psychologically harmful and deserve specialized treatment.
